When will Adam arrive?
Where is O’ Keeffe?
Bilal where will you be?
Has Einstein gone for a walk?
Is Sumreen coming home?
Should I call Radhika?
Mrs Matthew how have you been?
All privy to
this fabric i have created from birth.
Can i see them when they are gone?
Are they in me?
Is there a you and me?
There is something holding me apart.
And yet,
I feel like I’ve been them all.
Very thought provoking, like a Zen riddle!
grazie Ashdi. it started from here: a website i love: http://www.khanacademy.org/
i was looking at the people who work for Khan and one of them is Bilal. A name i had not seen in years… and it threw me back to days in Ruwais… one of my gentle Arab friends in school was Bilal. I loved the sound of it after all these years. Then i remembered others. And O’Keeffe simply because she is stunning… her life and her wierdness and lovliness and her paintings of bones… i love… and Einstein because of his radical philosophical views and connecting it all thru science. In a space of 10 minutes the poem happened in my head because of these dots 🙂
“The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms – this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.
( Albert Einstein – The Merging of Spirit and Science)”
Wow! Thanks for saying more… It is very inspiring to listen to all that you had to share.
